Christopher P. Bloomstran, CFA, the President and CIO of Semper Augustus Investments Group LLC, now boasts 30-plus years of investment experience — and as the nearby photo illustrates — has now a adopted the grizzled veteran look once sported around the Street by the late Steve Leuthold. I knew Steve well, and the legendary investment quant didn’t have much in common with the now widely acclaimed value investor — who I have also known for much of his investment career — except for their shared loves of sports, fine spirts and the markets, and now the beards. The resemblance is uncanny.
